MC’s Have To Monetize And Add Value To Their Craft As Events Keep Evolving – MC Portfolio.
Radio personality and celebrated MC, MC Portfolio has run counter to the interlocution on the agenda for event MC’s to be paid a well deserving fee when booked for events, he though believes it’s a must yet asserted that MC’s must also add value to their craft.
In a Twitter space meeting hosted by Multimedia Groups Joy 99.7 Fm and co-hosted by Ghanaian renowned entertainment journalist, Kwame Dadzie on the issue of “How Well Do Event Organizers Pay MC’s”?
The celebrated MC opined that in view of the fact that MC’s are very pivotal in the success of events because they actually translate the theme of the event and also bring the emotions of audience to live and consequently must be paid a deserving fee, he also believes that MC’s must add value to their craft as events keep evolving.
The over two hours meeting which hosted celebrated Ghanaian MC’s like MC Portfolio, Kojo Manuel, Merqury Quaye and creative director Whitney Boakye Mensah, had a lot of deliberations on MC’s and event organizers .
Key member of the Kumerican Movement, MC Portfolio in keeping with with his stance, foregrounded his earlier reasoning that in as much as MC’s all over are in fight for this course, they must also know that clients understand the value for money and thus it will be appropriate that MC’s add much value to their craft to give clients a tangible reason for spending a certain amount on an MC.
Citing himself as an example, he mentioned that at a point clients were ready to pay a double of his fee just for him to cancel an already booked event, when in fact sometime ago he had to lobby to host events for free just to announce his presence. Apparently, there’s being a lot of growth as feedback from clients and events organizers depicts.
“Events create certain memories and as such it’s good to have an MC who can make the moments lively to create such memories ”, he added.
