Kente Weavers Are The Poorest, Yet Ghanaians Largely Cherish Kente – Riley Osei.

Award winning artists manager and entertainment critique, Riley Osei on Saturday 27th of August, 2022, appealed to Nana Ntiamoah Panyin II, Adanwomasehene and His council of elders to come forward to their aid in these times of need and save situations for Kente weavers as prices of thread for Kente is continuously on the increase.

Speaking with Mr Black, host for Kumasefie on Opemsuo 104.7 FM, He stated emphatically not to disrespect anyone but bring to notice that, “Kente is largely cherished in Ghana and yet Kente weavers remains the poorest.”

According to the artists manager, prices of threads keep increasing especially in Adanwomase a town in the Ashanti Region because of monopoly system. There are only few people who sell these threads and as such control the prices. He added that there should be a law to regulate the price system.

He ended calling on Nana Ntiamoah Panyin II and his council of elders to come to their aid else, Kente weavers would remain poor because there’s no profit.
